just like killing a higher level animal will not respawn as a much lower level animal. They will not respawn as a much higher level. Likewise, if you kill a bunch of lvl 1 and 2 animals, those will be generally the ones respawning. So while there is some predictability to it, there also seems to be some safe guards built in from preventing it from being too "cheap." You'll have to go elsewhere, wait for it legitimately. Although typically speeding up time in the game will not "cheat" into getting it to just instantly come back to it. well, as long as you do not kill 4 or more animals right over that need zones, after a few hours IRL you'll probably find a diamond moose back at that need zone or a need zone nearby that one. and let's say you killed that lvl 5 diamond moose at a need zone. It is likely that lvl 5 diamond moose will respawn somewhere on the map. So basically, let's say you kill a lvl 5 diamond moose. it will usually end back at the same need zones after some time. However, as long as you do not despawn the need zone(s) it uses via producing level 4+ hunting pressure over its need zone(s). When you kill an animal, it respawns as the same sex and at near or at the same quality as before. I figure that a diamond has to have spawned somewhere and it's time to go find out where it is and kill it as opposed to hunting the same old areas. Killing the same species out of a new herd in new areas seems to help improve the stock in the old areas to some degree. That's when I go find new areas to pester the residents. Interesting enough, I find high scoring animals less frequently (in the areas I used to find them) the higher I get in levels despite having several active need zones in those areas. Actually, it's been very rare that it's happened at all, but it has happened. I have had 2 diamonds generate/spawn in areas where I killed a diamond before but it's not happened in all areas I've killed diamonds before. It inhabits prairies, grasslands, desert scrubland and sagebrush steppe.

The pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) is a species of artiodactyl (even-toed, hoofed) mammal indigenous to interior western and central North America. That's my opinion after a couple thousand hours of play spread out over 5 maps. Pronghorn is an animal that can be found in the Silver Ridge Peaks reserve located in the rocky mountains. If there is a way to "force" a diamond to spawn only the devs know how and they are not telling. Animals do not grow older and bigger as time goes on, nor is there any substantiated proof (that I'm aware of) that killing animals of any level will result in a higher level animal being consistently spawned to replace the those that are killed.
